Buying criteria
Procurement built around verification
Our procurement methodology is built to reduce ambiguity before a product reaches a European buyer. Six questions, and what we do to answer each of them.
The six questions
- 01
Manufacturer identity
Who are we actually buying from?
Our process requires checking the actual registered name and business licence, and establishing whether the company manufactures or resells.
- 02
Factory
Where is the product actually manufactured?
We confirm where production takes place and whether the factory belongs to the seller. When an opportunity justifies the trip, the planned verification includes a factory visit.
- 03
Product
What exact model are we buying?
We fix the exact model, version and configuration in writing. A product range is not a specification.
- 04
Documentation
What documentation applies to that exact product?
We review the documentation declared for that specific product and configuration, flag gaps or inconsistencies and coordinate any specialist verification required.
- 05
Quality
How will sample or production quality be evaluated?
The process sets out in advance the sample specification, how it is evaluated, what is checked in production and its written acceptance before a purchase is committed.
- 06
After-sales
What warranty, spare-parts and support structure exists?
We define warranty, spare-parts availability and support channel before closing, not when a problem appears.
Approach for Spain and the EU
Designed for the European market
Products intended for the European market must be assessed against the requirements applicable to their specific category and configuration. These are the types of documentation we review, depending on the product.
- Product technical documentation.
- Manufacturer declarations.
- Technical files.
- Labelling.
- Category-specific EU requirements.
How far our role goes
- 01
We do not issue certificates and we do not act as a conformity assessment body.
- 02
We do not carry out laboratory testing. Where it is needed, it is commissioned from an accredited laboratory.
